Nice quiet airport. Clean, some choices of food and shopping. Free WiFi at special kiosk.

The airport is very small, but it is comfortably equipped. It's clean, everything you need is there,
The main disadvantage is that everything happens here as in a two-time slow motion movie.
Registration of all international flights for five posts? Yes, easily. There is a queue before entering the airport, people are nervous, what needs to be done? that's right, put a guy with a flight schedule who SLOWLY catches those who are leaving "right now" from the queue and escorts EACH ONE SEPARATELY to the check-in desk.
Do you take your passport at passport control and start discussing the latest news/telling a joke with your neighbor? putting the passport aside? easy.
during the inspection, see an acquaintance in the queue (and Oman is a big village where all the distant relatives are) and start talking to him, forgetting that there is a queue for you, and the guy with whom you are communicating is also standing in this queue? Well, how else?
Go to a cafe to get the chips/soda you ordered and hang in front of the soda counter for about five minutes? easily.
as a conclusion: if this is a transit airport for you, and you need to pass the time, then there is no better place to find. I went to get some chips and spent about fifteen minutes. and if Muscat is your place of arrival /departure, feel free to add at least one hour to the estimated time :))

Very beautiful. It is interesting to read the history of the airport's construction on the walls with photos. It was spacious and comfortable, clean, not too crowded, and my family and I were comfortably accommodated in the charging chairs.

The airport is relatively new, there are shops, cafes, and you can get water for free. But there are few places where you can sit down, especially if there are a lot of flights. There is also a very inconvenient system for obtaining a new boarding pass in transit - the queue is long, many passengers do not speak English, and you need to stand for a long time. And most importantly, you need to take into account that the exchange rate of the local currency of 1 to 2.6 means that almost three dollars are given for dirhams, and not the other way around. So get ready for $10 magnets and $15 coffee.

The airport is small, but quite spacious and very clean. There is a recreation area, shops, a food court, a brasserie. But the prices in duty free are very high for cosmetics, higher than in Russian stores.

Location: Muscat International Airport (MCT), Oman
We were at Muscat airport for an overnight transfer on the route Siem Reap – Bangkok – Muscat - Moscow. We arrived at 23:00, the flight was at 15:00 the next day. For an overnight stay, we chose Aerotel Muscat, which is located right inside the airport, above the duty-free zone.

Check-in is fast
Clean, quiet, everything you need in the room is there
Very polite staff
There is a smoking room next to the hotel, convenient for smokers
We booked through Booking — we were given a room for 24 hours at the price of a 6-hour tariff, pleasantly surprised
− The only caveat: the sockets are of the British type. European plugs are not suitable. It was possible to charge the phone only through a razor outlet in the bathroom (photo attached).
, Duty-free and the airport itself:
Duty-free is not huge, but it is quite possible to wander for 1-2 hours.
There are brands: Chanel, Dior, Clarins, Rituals, Burberry, etc.
Prices are in Omani reais, not cheap, it's worth considering right away

The airport itself is very quiet, clean and comfortable. We felt it especially after Bangkok 😅

The impressions are great! The transfer was carried out calmly and comfortably, the hotel helped to have a good rest. If you have a night connection, I highly recommend Aerotel Muscat and Primeclass Lounge.

It's a very decent airport, everything is in the best traditions. Beautiful, comfortable, modern. The navigation is clear, the inspection is unobtrusive. I was there twice, on arrival and on departure. I'm not disappointed. Quite a decent and attentive audience at the control and assistance desks.

I liked the airport very much, it's clean, quiet, the staff will always help. Wi-fi works well, it's easy to connect. There are many places where you can relax, pleasant music is playing. There are smoking areas, clean and comfortable. Beautiful design at the airport, unobtrusive and at the same time original. If you fly in transit, you can relax in peace.

There are sofas on the 2nd floor to sleep at night, unfortunately the food court is only normal in the departure area.
If you have a long transfer, I advise you to take a bus to a large mosque nearby.
If you walk past the mosque a little, you can find inexpensive cafes with delicious local food on the right side.

It's a good airport. We were in transit twice. Easy navigation, quick inspections, no queues. As there are shops and cafes everywhere. There are a lot of toilets and smoking rooms. We were amazed by the benches for recreation-we didn't like some of them (. Slipped off). There are rest rooms with sofas and armchairs. Many even slept there on a soft carpet on the floor. Everyone will find a place to relax, charge their phone and get free water. The Internet via a scanned passport also works stably for 3 hours

A beautiful, comfortable airport without huge crowds of tourists. It is very clean both inside and outside the airport.
We flew in transit in both directions to Thailand and back. We didn't experience any inconveniences. Everything is clear and informative. Friendly airport staff. To have a snack in a cafe, easily find a place to smoke, even managed to use free Wi-Fi with a passport, although it did not work out to distribute it to the family, everyone needs to do this registration procedure.
There was a long docking and we were leaving for the city. We even managed to bargain with taxi drivers and bring down the price! Further in the city, they used a mobile application for ordering a taxi, which is very convenient. We checked in before arriving in Oman. OTAXI.
Those who read in advance what kind of country Oman is, and especially the airport, will not be surprised by the high prices for everything. We were lucky and all our connections took place at the appointed time, without postponement. The departure to the city was great and we will be happy to take advantage of the long connection once again. There is a lot to see in Muscat.

I was in transit, the check was quick, the navigation was convenient, it was difficult to get lost, duty-free shops were also good, there were a lot of different branded goods. I have citizenship of the Republic of Belarus, and I flew with my wife from Qatar to Oman, knowing that visas have been canceled for Belarusian citizens since December 2024. As a result, the passport control staff did not want to let me through , because they did not know the innovations in the laws. I had to call the shift supervisor , and even then they pretended that they were letting me in because I was traveling with my wife , and not because I needed a visa , which I consider to be complete nonsense.

One of the most beautiful airports. The only thing that pisses me off is the slowness of the staff at passport control. They're on the balcony, not in a hurry. Wi-Fi for free is unlimited in time, there are many taxis near the airport. I've never seen public transport there.

But it took a long time to check at passport control upon arrival in Muscat.
But on the return flight I went for a walk in duty free. There is an AMOUAGE boutique. The girls and I bought a cool set of mini vials - this is a TRAVEL SPRAY SET, there are 3 vials in a package, the cost of the box is 175 dollars, you can choose different flavors. We divided it into three and each one turned out to be a little more than $ 58 per bottle. It's cool and convenient.

Excellent and comfortable airport, very green. Few people, on the evening flight in general, almost alone were at the controls. A good Dutifrey, a large selection of Amouage at the best price in both Oman and Dubai. A large corner of Rituals cosmetics.
The only thing I didn't like was a very small selection of places for a snack at very inflated prices.

I visited Muscat Airport in transit to Bangkok in 2018. Big, clean, rich in Arabic. There was a delay of 3.5 hours on the way back, they were fed and watered. At that time, it was the most inexpensive route to Asia. The Oman Air planes were brand new, and wine was served on board.

Taking into account the dollar exchange rate, it is more profitable to buy at Muscat airport in Dutica than in Dubai, Bangkok or Moscow. It's nice to walk, there's a place to sit. The disadvantage is the high price in the cafe, of course, it is high everywhere at the airport.

We had stops at Muscat airport, there is a huge playground in the center of the hall, children of all nationalities play together, it's great! As for the payment system, only cash, change is given in local currency, which can be spent in airport shops.
