A very small airport. I'd say it's tiny. But, this has its advantage - you will not get lost and will not get lost. There is only a tiny Duty Free in the "clean" zone. The cafes are all outside the departure area. But, since the airport is small and it does not make sense to arrive very early, there is no need for a cafe in the departure area. You just won't have time to use it. In general, the control of the border guards is very serious. They take away everything that seems suspicious to them. Even a 75 ml hand cream was forced to put not just in a bag, but a package with a lock bought for 1 euro! Otherwise, they won't let you on the plane. And it doesn't matter that you take out this tube after passing the border guards and open it, the main thing is to pack the cream and perfume bottle with a bag with a lock. Just tie the bag no-no. Only with a lock. And they also say that we have stupid rules.
From Baden-Baden to Karlsruhe airport in the area of 40 km. you can get there by two buses, I managed it in 1 hour and 20 minutes, there is a bus to the airport every hour, a taxi can be ordered on average about 30 euros, there is also a free shuttle also runs once an hour, takes passengers to the railway station, but unfortunately I found out about it later, study it in advance. The airport is small, I flew with Pobeda airline, I checked in online on the official website of Pobeda for a day without any problems, I had luggage, so I had to stand in line for registration, I wanted to check the weight, but the employee sent me to the queue, although the scales were free, keep this in mind for the future it is better to check the weight in advance, WI-FI in The airport is free for 30 minutes, after passing customs, swabs were taken from hands and clothes (for the presence of explosives and narcotic substances). Boarding the plane was within walking distance, around 100 m. the plane was within sight. The flight was clearly on schedule.
A small airport. Modern, there is even a duty-free shop. One and not a big one. There is something to buy to eat in vending machines and in a small buffet. Bus parking to Baden Baden is nearby, there is also a stop to Rastatt. Buying tickets at the atm on the street or from the driver
A very small and cozy airport. An unloaded autobahn leads from Karlsruhe to it and only the last, probably 10 kilometers through populated areas. There are practically no food outlets at the airport itself and we did not notice the dutifrey. For the first time in my life, when I took off to the plane, I walked across the airfield. On the downside, there are few passport control windows on arrival. On departure, "hard" "soft" cheeses are thrown out of hand luggage. There are many small "guesthouses" right near the airport for those arriving at the waters.
A small compact airport. Everything is nearby, everything is convenient. There is only one dutifrey store, the assortment does not amaze the imagination, the prices are above average, but for the purchase of local drinks there are norms
A small airport, few people. Very polite staff. The gates are located near the check-in counters. There are a lot of seats in the waiting rooms, there is enough space for everyone.
Duty free... worse than so-so. But the main thing is that all the edibles that you want to bring home as a gift should be sent with luggage, but not with hand luggage - they will be taken away! for the reason of "no more than 100 grams". Everything else is fine. The umbrella cane CAN be transported in hand luggage, no problem. I'm writing something that I've had trouble with myself. Good luck to everyone
I was struck by the requirement for hand luggage - I have not seen this either here or at any foreign airport - to pack thermal water (50ml ) and cream (50ml) in a cellophane bag with a dubious fastener. What's the point, if it 's on the plane, I got them anyway!
It took a very long time to pass through customs upon arrival in Baden-Baden. At first, only two booths worked, then after half an hour two more were opened.
Everything is fast and convenient - the only thing is there is no Duty free

At the inspection, my daughter was thrown out a liquid for lenses "for flights" of 100ml without talking and very rudely. After that, they examined the slender, silent girl for explosives. Shiz in its purest form. I will add that we flew from Moscow with this liquid with a transfer in Berlin, no one found fault.

The tax free envelope box is located on the street across the street, skirting the airport. It is unlikely to make it before departure. There is nowhere to eat after registration.
