A very beautiful fountain on the embankment, as well as the Sukhumi embankment itself! Nature, sea, flowers... I definitely advise you to take a walk along it.
The most beautiful place on the Sukhum embankment is the Abkhazian Drama Theater named after him. Changba. In the courtyard of the theater there is a very picturesque fountain with griffins, palm trees and guavas....a really beautiful place, I recommend visiting

A wonderful theater with a history. Interesting productions based on Fazil Iskander. Ticket prices are symbolic, for those who do not know the Abkhaz language, there is a sign language translation. I recommend it to all guests of Abkhazia.
The theater itself can be seen that it was renovated not very long ago, everything inside is shiny and impressive, the area around is magnificent - this is in great contrast to the abandonment and neglect of the city as a whole. The acting was great, but the performance was in the Abkhaz language, they gave out a radio signal, but it seemed that not everything was being translated and there was interference. In order not to "blur" the impression, choose performances in Russian (if you do not know Abkhazian).
Great theater. In Soviet times, artists from all over the Union came here with performances. Currently, congresses and election speeches are mainly held. But the fountain in front of the theater is still working.
A complete external reconstruction of the theater, lighting and fountains (griffins), a lot of tourists in the evening, impressive, I recommend going if you are in Sukhumi.
A beautiful theater. Renovated. There is a well-groomed territory around, a fountain. An interesting repertoire, a talented troupe. Near the embankment, beautiful rotundas. Opposite there are small cafes with an interesting interior and a delicious menu
Everything is fine, a beautiful landmark, an excellent fountain, if not for 1 BUT: extremely intrusive Gypsies (nowhere in Abkhazia have they been met as much as near this fountain), they don't even really allow you to take pictures, they climb, they are extremely intrusive, their children walk between the tables in a cafe nearby and compulsively beg. For this, minus 1 star. And the city administration needs to do something about it!
A stunningly beautiful place with its own energy. It's cozy, I want to sit down and just watch. Lots of places for photo zones. It is very memorable for tourists. There are many cafes and places to relax on the right and left
We watched "The Little Prince", we really liked it! The performance is in the Abkhaz language, everyone is given headphones, and there is a simultaneous translation into Russian. The theater inside is beautiful, small, but interesting.
21.06.2023. Literally just returned from the performance, I want to share my impressions about how to spend 1600 for two as ridiculously as possible. Having purchased tickets at the box office of the theater, not a word was said (including on the poster), the performance takes place in the local language. Having come to the beginning at the entrance control, the girl, checking the tickets, did not bother to inform about the radio speaker and that the performance was in the local language. Having taken places (namely the center of the 14th and 15th place in a row in a full hall), we were pleasantly surprised. Having watched until the first intermission and naturally not understanding who was related to whom, I went to the administrator. She , in turn , issued two orders . having taken seats in a full hall, the second act begins. And lo and behold, both receivers keep radio silence and are not configurable. Having lost patience, I had to get out through a whole bunch of dissatisfied people (which is generally understandable). When I approached the employee, I reported the malfunction and returned the devices, I was offered to stay and watch the performance with serviceable equipment. Perhaps someone likes to watch the endings of films instead of a full meter, but I do not consider myself to be in this category of perverts, so I refused this offer. As a result, we have a fucked-up evening of mood and money. I do not recommend this charade to visit. The cast performed well, but with such an administration they will go far
I really liked the theater itself and the repertoire. There is a beautiful embankment nearby, there is a place to walk before the performance. The performances were really impressive! The most talented actors, the game is creepy, the energy is just crazy!
A beautiful place! The architecture is very impressive! The drama theater was named after S. Chanba in the late 60s of the 20th century. The most famous theater director here for many years was Huta Jopua. Under his leadership, several performances were staged, which became very popular and discussed in society.
Solomon Chanba is a scientist, ethnographer, representative of the Abkhazian intelligentsia of the XIX century, served in the army of the Russian Empire. Author of essays and articles on the history and ethnography of the Abkhazian people.
The landmark of Sukhum. Nicely. It is mandatory to be photographed. It is a very famous place both in Sukhum and Abkhazia. Near the embankment, cafes and other attractions.
What a beautiful place right on the waterfront.
It's nice to walk next to the fountain.
They weren 't inside .
The building is atmospheric.
The photos were taken.
I was lucky enough to get to this theater for an incredible concert of opera performers. The theater itself is a delight to the eyes, the acoustics are very good, we enjoyed it a lot.
Externally, a very beautiful building. Unfortunately, it was not possible to get to the performance, there are no posters, the phone number at the box office never answers. There are no cashiers at the checkout
The most beautiful place! If you are already there, it's a sin to leave without memorable photos! And especially at night, when the palm trees are illuminated! Fountains are also not free, everyone who wants to take a photo is waiting in line))
There was a mixing theater, actors and productions, but I was not comfortable because of the very loud sound and during the intermission the whole hall was filled with the acrid and stale smell of clove oil, (it may be for the purpose of disinfecting the air).. The smell is like in the tombs of Tutankhamun..I thought my mom and I would suffocate! And even the theater's website does not open, but Chinese writing comes out..😒😒😒
The building itself and the surrounding area look great. Unfortunately, there were no stops at the time of my arrival in Sukhum. So I can't say anything about the acting and the director's work.
The theater itself and the area around it are magnificent and in stark contrast to the abandonment of the rest, once as magnificent as the embankment in Soviet times. By the way, everything was restored with funds allocated by Russia after the Georgian-Abkhaz war. As evidenced by the modest plaque on the wall at the entrance to the theater.
