We had a rest at the Abaata in the city of Gagra. Overall, the impressions are positive. Of the disadvantages, I would like to highlight the lack of noise insulation, as already mentioned in the reviews. In May, there were already a lot of vacationers, while the beach, apparently, was not quite ready for the season, the umbrellas were tinted and put in order - this is of course good, but when you want to sit by the sea and instead of sea freshness you feel the smell of paint - it is not very pleasant.
The balconies of the buildings are located very close to the neighboring balconies, you go out onto the balcony and the neighbor is an arm's length away.
But I would like to highlight the advantages.
Cleaning is regular, there are no problems with changing towels, very cute animals and birds on the territory, there is a beautiful view from the room.
The rules of the hotel state that you can not turn on music on your devices and this is very good, given the lack of noise insulation.
Some neighbors, music lovers, turned on a speaker on the balcony, we turned to the reception and made a remark to the neighbors.
To sum up, I would like to note the good service and positive attitude towards the hotel guests.
I will not praise this place or I will not get there anymore :), everything is wonderful, the service, the staff, the territory is chic, it did not work out very well with the sauna, but we decided everything so there are no complaints, but there is no limit to perfection..
A wonderful hotel! The staff is always friendly, they tell and help everything, good room cleaning every day, and what great animators in the children's room👍👍👍The territory of the hotel is picturesque, you immediately fall in love. There is a restaurant, a tea house, a lobby bar on the territory of the hotel, it is delicious everywhere, but the tea house was especially pleased (a varied menu, friendly staff, good prices). Thanks to all the employees of the complex👍👍👍We will come to you again❤
We rested from 06/23/2012 to 07/01/2012. A wonderful, atmospheric place. The mountains approach the sea and this oasis hotel "Abaata" is comfortably located between them.
Michelin-starred chef Jean Aschner creates in the restaurant. Wonderful guys at the bar - David and Gudal. They prepare amazing cocktails, do it with great pleasure, and charge the guests with a good mood 👍🍹
The sea, nature, and even the clouds - everything was wonderful.
Our favorite place! There is a teahouse, a restaurant, and a heated swimming pool on site. Convenient descent to the sea. Wi-Fi throughout, clean, cozy. There is parking for those who drive a car.
Everything is just great!
Its own territory, swimming pool, football field, beach and water transport rental!
The rooms are clean, the staff is polite! The eighteenth highest level!!!
9 points out of 5, for the green area of the hotel, you will not find such a thing in Amr, Grand
Hotel, Amza...I don't want to offend them. Abaata is a combination of modernity and history, here you will not see the ghost of Stalin on a bench on a full moon.
Proper location of buildings. Room cleaning, towel change, cleanliness in the territory, all this is 5+.
Now about the sad part...Cougars in an aviary in 2023 are animal husbandry, feathered birds screaming like half-flies are tolerable. I haven't seen any rabbits. As a result, minus 1 point.
The arrangement of furniture in the room is something, for me it is a pain, so you can't use the space.
The cooler is on the 1st and 2nd floor, I live on the third.
The gym is a semi-functional exercise bike, the rest doesn't work. as a result, a minus point
Bedside sconces are a very poorly organized solution, they do not have ceiling lights, so if you want to wake up, just turn them on, one is enough.
The light in the bedroom is on at the entrance, tolerable, but off is very inconvenient. A pass-through switch? Nah, you haven't heard. As a result, minus 1 point.
Organization in the bathroom...there are not enough shelves, because we bring toothbrushes and shampoos...dentures (joke).
Abkhazian cuisine is very tasty, but requires an air freshener. As a result, a minus point.
Umbrellas on the beach are of two sizes, the domes are covered with bamboo branches. If you use the ones that are lower, then take care of your head. You can scratch it very badly! As a result, minus half
a point ...........
I'll give you 5+, but there is room to grow!
Thanks!
The sea is nearby, clean! We rented a 2-room apartment with a kitchen on the 1st floor with a separate entrance. Wonderful! Cleaning is done regularly. Cafe nearby, very tasty khachapuri! I recommend it for those who like a relaxing holiday
I really liked the hotel, despite some shortcomings, responsive staff, well-groomed territory, room cleaning, the food in the restaurant is very tasty, the pool was vacationing in August
The hotel is located in a historical place, where every stone speaks about the traditions of the Abkhazian people and the continuation of the traditions of the Prince of Oldenburg, the Russian Empire, and also refers to the old Colchis, the Byzantine civilization!
People, patrons are great fellows who restore the ancient temple, the fortress on the closed territory of the hotel!
Everything is very calm, authentic and joyful!
What needs to be done, as the hotel is still developing:
1) pour snow-white sand where the sun beds are located
2) cats and dogs that are on the territory in free movement are sometimes too intrusive
3) forbid the guests of an open heated hotel to turn on their music)) ideally, you can listen to background CLASSICAL music!!!
4) in the rooms, well, specifically in ours, there was a smell of dampness, maybe mold? In the bathroom, because of the high ceilings, the maids probably just do not reach the surface and there is dust, accumulated dirt. In principle, we are not pretentious, the rooms are clean, the repair is good, but still, the smell is not clear from the furniture..
5) I really want Abkhazia to become a blooming paradise for everyday life and guests, everything has been restored!
Additional advantages
1) a good-quality full-fledged court, 500 rubles per hour
2) closed territory, lots of roses, greenery, there are kiwis, outlandish plants!
3) nearby in walking distance is the territory of the Primorsky Park

Great location, near the seaside park for walking. We drove a long way, happily left the car in the parking lot and moved on foot. Polite staff, quickly responded to requests. We rented a studio with a kitchen, lived with two children. Very convenient. Clean, used a laundress, gave children's clothes to the laundry. The next day we received them clean, 50% discount on children's clothes. Breakfast was included in the price, porridge/pancakes/omelette/drinks/pastries. Breakfast was designed for adults living in the room, in our case for two, but two children ate too much with us.
It was also convenient to come to the hotel on foot through the park after dinner at the Gagripsh restaurant. We also went on foot to see the skala sanatorium. I definitely recommend the hotel to stay.

The hotel is great, the location is great! The territory is well maintained, there is a swimming pool. Attentive and courteous staff. The beach is pebbly, but clean and there are plenty of sun beds/umbrellas. The sea is gentle. One warning: do not drink water from the cooler, you will have an intestinal disorder, it is better to buy bottled water.
I was on vacation in Abkhazia for the first time. The hotel is very nice. Lots of greenery, nice beach. After 3 days in crowded Sochi, there was a feeling of spaciousness. The breakfasts are not exquisite, but they cook well. What I didn't like was the sun beds occupied in the morning, on which there are stones and towels, if you are late to the beach, you need to ask someone to give you an unused sunbed. If you put another 10 -15 pieces and the problem will disappear.
A good hotel for decent money. Abaata is located at the beginning of the city of Haagra, beautiful and well-maintained territory, pleasant rooms.
Delicious breakfast in the hotel restaurant, 24-hour gym, heated swimming pool. There is a convenience store nearby.
There is a bar on the beach, sun beds, umbrellas and hammocks, everything is comfortable.
I didn't like it · 1) There is a very big problem with noise insulation in some buildings! We tried not to pay attention, but this is impossible, in the room in which we lived (103), literally every drain of water from the restroom of other rooms can be heard (this is due to the common riser in the building), i.e. at night you can wake up from the sound of water draining and be a little shocked.
2) If you do not hang the do not disturb icon on the room door, then the cleaner can come in with her key at the moment when you are in bed, it is not very convenient.
3) The hotel has 2 places to eat, a tea house and a restaurant. In both places, they can not cope with the load (if everything is booked at the hotel), then there are not enough waiters, you can wait a very long time for an order. The restaurant has better service and service.
Abaata is now in my heart forever. A magnificent, clean, cozy, well-groomed and gated area with rare plants, flowers and trees. There is a heated swimming pool, a private beach, a tennis court. There are two restaurants on site with very tasty food and good service, in one of them, namely in Abaata, Chef Jean with a Michelin star works. Delicious breakfasts with excellent semolina porridge and cheesecakes. Room service is top-level, everything is very clean, the staff is responsive. The main criterion for choosing this place was a friendly attitude towards pets and we are glad that we had practically no choice in the city of Gagra and we stopped for our baby York in Abaata and did not make a mistake with the choice. The hotel lives up to its description as a premium hotel
Great hotel!
We spent 8 days in it in the middle of April. I must say right away, it was not the season, there were few people, I would say almost none at all, perhaps with the beginning of the season something may change in a negative way, the quality will drop, due to overload, the general feeling of privacy will disappear, etc., therefore, the review, like any other, is honest, but subjective, with amendments for the time of year.
There are many advantages, there are no disadvantages, especially with a discount on Abkhazia and the local "service".
- Excellent location in the Old Gagra area
- The most magnificent views of the hotel itself and the area around it
- Excellent breakfasts
- Responsive and super friendly staff
- The heated outdoor pool worked, even when the hotel seemed to have no guests at all, it was constantly cleaned and chlorinated.
- 2 restaurants at the hotel with different cuisines, both are quite decent, even by Moscow standards, the prices are very adequate, especially in the Teahouse.
Although we decided for ourselves that we would return to Abkhazia, the hotel has sunk right into our soul! I recommend it to everyone who wants to get the most positive emotions both from Abkhazia itself and from your vacation!)
The place is wonderful, the entire Abkhazian hotel industry is in a semi-decadent state, but this hotel seems to be an exemplary one, as if designed to show everyone that with the arrival of investors, you can make comfort at a level not worse than Turkey. A great beach, a great restaurant with national dishes, rooms are clean and cozy.

A small hotel on the first coastal strip. In general, it is very good, far from the hustle and bustle. The pool is normal, the rooms are solid 4. The price/quality ratio is 4. Problems with the staff.
Good afternoon, the nature is very beautiful, the hotel is conveniently located. That's all. The attitude is piggy, the service is 0, it feels like you owe them..... Rest forever on some kind of clarification, very tiring. You don't rest, but you try to solve something all the time, it's not a rest... money and time wasted. NOT DRESSED. Although everyone decides for themselves.

Excellent hotel in Staraya Gagra. There is only one disadvantage - it is very expensive. The park nearby is magnificent and the sea is very clean.
The hotel is above all praise! I liked everything! Rooms, service,restaurants, beach, such beautiful greenery on the territory,kiwi,bougainvillea! A very good beach bar, the beach itself is well equipped, the sea is clean and beautiful, and the restaurant serves very tasty dishes, just a gourmet's dream! Good parking, which is important for Abkhazia.A cool pool, although with such a wonderful sea, we didn't need a pool, we went in once. On the territory of the hotel there is a good store with goods for the sea. I bought myself a dream swimsuit) I couldn't find what I needed for a long time, and the prices are quite normal (not advertising)) however, I am very pleased) One disadvantage is that the lights are turned off every night from about 2 to 6 a.m., a hotel of this level could have its own generator. My piece of soul stayed at this hotel, I will definitely come back!
By the way, when I was choosing rooms, I couldn't find information on the Chalet building, so I think it will be useful for many, this is a beautiful building, wrapped in kiwi and bougainvillea, rooms there are cheaper, there will be no sea view, but you can safely take it! It is very beautiful and there are balconies, many have a view of the prince's castle and the church.
Beautiful well-maintained enclosed area, spacious room, placed with a dog. There is a gym where group workouts are also held, you can go to yoga in the morning. At the reception, if necessary, they will give you an umbrella or a raincoat, they also have a first-aid kit. It was not possible to go to the bathhouse, everything was scheduled. We were on the May holidays, it was cool, so the heated pool was relevant. There is a ping pong table, a tennis court, a Playground. Breakfast is not included in the price, but for 500 rubles you can go to the buffet. In general, everything is great, I didn't want to leave)
Beautiful territory. Entering the sea of pebbles. There is a heated swimming pool. But the rooms are expensive. The hotel is without food, but there is a restaurant and a tea house on site. If you cross the road there are shops
Positive:
- Beautiful territory;
- Good rooms;
- Polite staff;
- Animators for children;
- The location of the hotel.
Minuses:
- Terrible beach (there are a lot of pieces of iron sticking out and lying right on the beach);
- Terrible entrance to the sea (huge stones, slabs with protruding fittings are lying a little deeper);
- Children caught rotavirus in the pool, in general, a lot of sick children in September;
- The gym has one name.
Today we received a message that the hotel has a birthday, SO WE SINCERELY WANT TO CONGRATULATE ALL THE STAFF ON THIS HOLIDAY!!! THANKS TO YOU, WE HAVE DECIDED that WHEN WE RETIRE, WE WILL MOVE TO LIVE IN ABKHAZIA!!! TODAY WE ARE IN NOVAYA GAGRA, BUT VERY OFTEN WE COME TO YOUR RESTAURANT TO HAVE A DELICIOUS MEAL!!!💗💗💗
Nice hotel. Cool territory, access to the sea, buildings built in 1900, its own special flavor, there is a restaurant. Somewhere you need to bring gloss and beauty, but everything is clean and well maintained. The staff is friendly and attentive.
A very decent hotel: the territory is well maintained - it is constantly looked after, watered, trimmed. Everything is green. There is a petting zoo on site: wonderful rabbits and noble cougars.
Clean heated swimming pool. There are enough sun beds both near the pool and on the beach. Hammocks. Retro cars. A clean fountain surrounded by trees.
The rooms are clean. The furniture is good. Quietly. Comfortably.
Nice hotel) small cozy rooms with balconies. Very well maintained, quite a large area with a warm swimming pool. Delicious breakfasts. There is a tea house on the territory of the hotel, we had lunch there - very tasty and relatively inexpensive.
The disadvantage of the hotel is the lack of bathrobes in all rooms, and the lack of kettles or coolers on each floor.
A super hotel. Volleyball court, football field, swimming pool, exercise equipment, shops.
The service is correct, which is unusual for our south.
Very clean. The pool is heated in winter.
Rotavirus ruined the rest. Breakfast in the "restaurant" is a buffet, where products and salads are placed on tables practically outside without cooling. Sliced pieces of butter lie in water without ice. For some reason, the water in the sea was mixed with fat. The door to the room opens the old-fashioned way with a key (one for a family), there are no room cards. The lobby bar next to the reception has never worked during the entire vacation, the bar is only on the beach. There is no hotel's own restaurant in an air-conditioned room. You need to go either to a teahouse or to a restaurant with semi-private tables. The renovation and furniture in the room do not seem to be grandmother's, but they no longer look modern. The bathroom is small, the toilet with a tank without installation, the shower cabin is small, the tile is in the style of the 2000s. In general, nothing critical, but expectations were not met.
It wasn't the first time we had a rest. The rooms themselves are not very large, but everything you need is there. Cleaning every day. The price tag has gone up in Abaat's restaurant. It was cheaper last time.And the menu has changed . The chef must have measured himself. It wasn't really tasty a couple of years ago. Because of this, you can see that backgammon goes much less. There used to be a cue ball. There was no place to find. It 's cheaper in the Teahouse . We went almost only there . They feed normally-at a price. The service is good. And the return of the dishes is fast. The hotel grounds are clean and well maintained. They are constantly being cleaned. Instead of a raccoon, they bred rabbits)))Overall a good , relaxing stay . The only thing I didn't really like was that there were a lot of dog walkers (((The owners often didn't keep track of their dogs-they sent them on a samovygul. They were happily running around and marking everything around. That's why I didn't walk on the grass. Suddenly you run into a mine)))And if they were left in the room, then a loud "longing" for the whole neighborhood. Because of this, I only take off the star.
Good afternoon.
I want to tell you about this place.
The territory is beautiful, no doubt.
The rooms for this price are so-so.
Cleaning on a solid stake
Change of towels and linen is not observed. Only after a few comments.
Abaat's restaurant is nothing, it can be better.
Restaurant Teahouse - bottom. Dirt, grease- just tin.
The staff - as if you owe them something.
Guys
This is the month of November.
What's going on in your season.
Just get better.
Thank you.
Walking distance to the beach, the atmosphere is extraordinary. The staff is at the proper level. It's clean enough.Plentiful and delicious food. The rooms are spacious.
We had a rest at the end of September 2022. Very well maintained territory of the hotel. Lots of greenery. Nice heated pool. The room we had was two-room, very spacious, clean and a large bathroom. The room is cleaned every day. The hotel is very decent. I recommend.
One of the best hotels in Gagra. It stands right on the seashore. The rooms are comfortable. A very beautiful inner park with a small zoo - two cougars, a raccoon, a peacock. There is an outdoor swimming pool with sun beds and umbrellas. You can eat in a teahouse (20 meters), there is a budget dining room across the street. Nearby is the city park, which is now being restored, a very beautiful Colonnade with a fountain in the park, and the famous Gagripsh restaurant.
My favorite hotel in Gagra! Very beautiful territory, excellent rooms, a nice swimming pool, its own beach with sun beds and areas, there is a bar on the beach. There is a children's room with animators. Two great restaurants. There is an old temple on the territory. There is a park nearby.
If I come to Gagra, I settle here.
We visited for a couple of days. A wonderful hotel, a large territory, with several buildings. The breakfasts are delicious. There is a private beach.
Perhaps for someone it may be a minus, there are no elevators, because the buildings have no more than 3 floors
One of the best hotels in Abkhazia.
Polite staff, large territory, large beach.
Of the minuses- the dilapidation and simplicity of the rooms, a meager menu.
