My stay at this hotel is currently ending. Only positive impressions. Excellent sound insulation, very good location,quiet from the street. There are no neighbors in the room and no people passing along the corridor. There is a kettle, cups, a safe, there is only a hair conditioner in the bathroom. The towels were changed, however, only after 6 days. Underwear never. But we didn't ask for it. The linen and towels are pure white, there are no stains (as described above), the staff is responsive and polite. We stayed in Abaash for the second time and never regretted it. Cozy, clean and spacious rooms, views of the monastery are just a dream, it's a pleasure to wake up here every morning. It's quiet, you can't hear the noise, loud music from the street, for a relaxing holiday it's the best thing. The food is delicious, moderately varied. This time they only took breakfast. Polite staff. The location is 10/10, within walking distance of all the sights of New Athos, which is good news. The way to the sea is picturesque, through a cypress alley. There is no private beach, but in general you can safely stay in the city, the main thing is to have something to lie on the rocks and where to hide from the sun. At the end of May, the beach was not yet equipped for the season, so there are no sun beds/umbrellas to be found. But something was actively being built in the neighborhood, so I think there will be sheds and rentals in the season.
In general, we will return here with pleasure for a high-quality vacation, good service and just for a welcoming atmosphere.

"Abaash Hotel" in New Athos is a good-class hotel by Abkhazian standards. We stayed there for two weeks: one week in the grand suite + one week in the presidential suite.
Positive:
- location of the hotel (within walking distance of the waterfall, Simon Kananita Temple, lake and Psyrtskha railway station, Novoafon monastery, Novoafon cave, Anakopian fortress, Simon Kananita grotto);
- there is no passing highway nearby (for example, in a similar-level hotel "Afon Black Sea Resort" noise from the main highway is present under the windows around the clock);
- good level of renovation, new furniture, the hotel is fresh;
- excellent varied and delicious breakfasts (with a slight disadvantage, which is attributed to the cons);
- responsive, friendly and customer-oriented hotel staff;
- there is always a bar with chilled alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks in the lobby of the hotel;
- the view from the huge balcony of the presidential suite is stunning (right at the waterfall and the temple of Simon the Cananite);
- high-quality daily room cleaning.
Minuses:
- in the shower room of the grand suite there is no water seal on the drain, so a strong sewer smell spreads gradually to the entire room; this problem is treated in the only but effective way – cold water turns on in the shower half-heartedly and does not turn off around the clock; at the same time, the smell from the drain does not arise; in other rooms there is no such problem.
- for unknown reasons, breakfasts are always served slightly warm (at room temperature); at first we thought that we just came too late for breakfast and everything had already cooled down, but no, all dishes are taken out of the kitchen already like this; at the same time in numerous containers for storing/distributing side dishes, sausages, scrambled eggs, pancakes, etc.many other dishes are provided with burners for heating, but the kitchen staff does not use them.
Wishes/features (I can not attribute them to the cons):
- I would like to change towels more often than once every 3 days (in other similar hotels of New Athos they change even less often);
- I would like to have more varied dinners at the hotel and with a larger assortment (we never went to lunch);
- the sea is 600-700 meters from the hotel (it is necessary to return to the hotel with a very easy, almost imperceptible ascent); personally, it did not bother us, we walked with pleasure.
General conclusion: the hotel is very good; if we go back to New Athos, we will be happy to book a room at this hotel.
It took a very long time to choose a hotel before the trip. The first time in Abkhazia, a child and a lot of negativity on the web. We rested for 15 nights and only positive emotions from both Abkhazia itself and the hotel. I must say right away that we visited only Ritsa and Chernihiv. Pitsunda, Gagra and Sukhum were seen only in passing. I will not write much about the atmosphere in Athos, it has the potential to return here again and again. And Abaash helps in this. The coolers on the floor also miraculously "evaporated" from all floors on the second day of stay. The cute girls at the reception explained this fact by the fact that they have water in the tap from the well, which means you can use it for drinking (I didn't dare- I bought it) . Next, the room is cleaned once a week. To requests and questions why is this so? There are only some force majeure circumstances all the time. Sometimes there are no cleaners, then there is an over-the-top mass check-in and departure, "there are not enough hands." It's not serious for the declared level of stardom. It smells like such a typical scoop. At the same time, the attitude towards the guests is very tolerant. You do not interfere with our work, we do not interfere with your rest. Come again

I just got back from this hotel. Someone wrote in the reviews that this is a guest house, no. The guest houses have a refrigerator, but there is none here!!! There is a mini bar with adrenaline and Sukhumi beer, which does not work, it not only does not cool, it warms. On the first day everything was hotter, then it became room temperature. Accordingly, you cannot store your food and drinks in the room.
The furniture is all rolled up - chips, stains. The stench of sewage is all over the room (about like in a public toilet), I had to sleep with an open balcony, there was no other way. In September, the nights were cool, I had to freeze.
Dust and dirt are everywhere. Traces of blood are everywhere - on the carpet, bedding, wall, floor lamps. There are no dishes in the room, except for 2 dirty glasses and 2 plates. If you want to drink wine or cut cheese, you will not succeed, because there are no appliances. There is no bottled water either. Usually hotels provide 2 bottles of water per day, there is no such thing here. It is unrealistic to stay in the room, an allergy to dust immediately begins. The table on the balcony was still covered in dust. I attach the photo, I wrote the word save on the table, asked to clean the room. To which the receptionist replied that the balcony is not part of the room. And
that's it, the feeling of dirt and some kind of stickiness. The plumbing has not been cleaned once in 7 days and judging by the smells and dirt, there was no cleaning before me. But guests need to be prepared for the specifics of the service. There were problems with cleaning - the first day there was no cleaning, on the second day the garbage was removed, but they did not even fold the towels, I had to run to the reception with a mountain of wet towels to change them. Breakfast is a separate song. It turns out (unexpectedly) that everyone comes to breakfast 30 minutes before the end. There are not enough plates, forks, cups, and the food is over. Coffee at breakfast is some kind of a schmuck in the kettle. Normal coffee for a fee at the bar, but the same girl is responsible for the bar and the restaurant, and at the time of the emergency she is not up to the bar, and no one else is authorized to press the button of the coffee machine. In general, with rare exceptions, the staff is relaxed, and the owner saves on employees who simply can not cope with the service at peak load.
We had a rest in June 2024, the room was on the 4th floor overlooking the construction site. Since we didn't book in advance, we had to take what we had. The rooms are spacious, there is everything you need, a change of towels in fact, if you leave it on the floor, there is a sofa in the room as an extra place, carpet. At night, when the door was open, grasshoppers and midges flew in. At the entrance to the hotel there is a large lobby with a good modern renovation and a reception area, as well as a bar area and a buffet dining room. A nice girl met us at the reception, told us everything and sent us to the room, unaccompanied.
Our room was Standard 2x with a balcony, everything looks very good, new furniture in the style of the 70s and most importantly a very large bathroom with underfloor heating, and a long countertop with 2 sinks and a large mirror, and also a large shower room, there was a hair dryer but it was just lying in the corner and with protruding wires and no one apparently they didn't care about him. Further, after examining the cleanliness of the bathroom, I noticed that they were cleaning there, to put it mildly, apparently milking the ticks, or such an attitude of the maids to cleaning. Then, going out on the balcony, we saw scaffolding just above our room, there was also a table with chairs and sun beds, and some man was crawling, as I understand it, who was engaged in finishing the building, and all this was in construction dust. It's just that all the days that we were there, we just simply couldn't go out on the balcony and sit at a table normally, we just had to lay towels. But not only that, all this construction dust just dragged into the room, and all the furniture, bedside tables were constantly covered in dust and we breathed it!!!I'm not a picky person, I didn't say anything, well, since we arrived for a short time, I decided to wait 3.5 days. But one day, when we left for a tour, we left a sign that we needed room cleaning, so what do you think someone came to us? Nooo!!!I went down to the reception, complained about it and was assured that they would clean up soon, and we tired decided to go out so as not to interfere with the cleaning, and what do you think happened? Tadaaam, no one came to us. It was already just beyond everything! To be honest, there is no clear attitude towards vacationers at all, why do you move people into those rooms where repairs are underway? Why should we breathe this?! We also found out when we went to bed that we didn't have a single blanket, bedspread or sheet to at least cover ourselves with. Soon in the evening, a very nice girl Marina came and did everything we asked! That's where the loyalty of the hotel is, in this person, that's who should lead the team, not the people who are sitting there now! The sediment and questions about the hotel remained, and to be honest, so far they don't pull at 4 * at all, the 3 * is stretched ... and it's not about the hotel itself, it's wonderful, but about the work of managers.

The halves of the bed are not fastened together, we saved on the most basic! Sleeping in the middle or together will not work well.
Breakfast in the restaurant is normal in terms of the quality of the products, but periodically there were no products available. it turned out that the manager had changed. I don't want to pick on the little things, but the hotel has not changed for the better. I was amazed that they no longer put water in the rooms. They said, dial in the cooler, on the 3rd floor. No, and there's silence. It's not difficult to buy, but we arrived late from excursions and already without water (That was the problem! Now even in shabby hotels they put water on. It's kind of not a luxury!? What did you decide to save money on? The staff does not greet, is not customer-oriented. Two years ago, we had three meals a day. This time we went to lunch and decided that it wasn't worth it.
Still, this is our favorite hotel. My beloved Athos. The location is the best! Dear new manager, we wish you strength for the development of the hotel! Read the feedback, talk to the guests, respect your team! Everything depends on you! Work with your soul!

A very cozy hotel. We spent three nights in it and would have stayed longer if we had more time. When I saw the door near the elevator, I was already tense, because I sleep lightly and the night hum could have prevented me, but there was no such thing, the sound insulation is excellent.

They contacted the reception after the first night to turn off the air conditioner, since all the electrics are under their "stylish" cladding. We were told that they would inform the technical director and he would do something, we stayed in this hotel for a week - no one did anything! Regarding the water heater, if you wash during rush hours, then there is no hot water, and we were out of season ...; 4) My husband and I went to my birthday, this is probably a trifle, but extremely unpleasant. Not only did they promise a compliment from the hotel, but until my husband reminded me closer to night, there was no compliment. One more nuance, we asked at the beginning of the vacation just to give us champagne glasses, we never received them, the reception reported that there are dishes in the rooms for water and tea. At the same time, when the "Compliment" was brought, champagne and two DIFFERENT glasses of wine were brought... It's just ridiculous... Although there are normal champagne glasses in the bar. 5) The place where breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served is dirty, the sofas and chairs are stained. We only had breakfasts- but they were extremely monotonous, the staff who controls the organization of breakfasts is terrible, the cook's daughter is a good girl, but she was replaced by another one- rude, answers through her teeth, why take such a non-customer-oriented staff?! Breakfasts are extremely monotonous:one porridge, one salad, slicing 2 cheeses, slicing 2 cheap sausages, not tasty sausages, vegetables, adjika, canned peas, corn, casserole or pancakes, pancakes, some kind of cupcake or mannikin and some fruits (or tangerines or feijoa) , once a week there was slicing: persimmon, apple, kiwi. Coffee, as already mentioned, is diluted slop, if you want a normal coffee, you can order it at the bar for a fee. I also understand that there is a cult of family in Abkhazia, but how can the children of the staff in street clothes, a hat, with a shift, a briefcase, etc. be allowed to a place where people eat, let them grab food, etc.?... 6) Separately about the standards of cleaning, in a week the bed was changed only once and then, insert a blanket into the duvet cover they provided it to us; to take out the trash and change the towels, we must constantly ask, although I clarified the standards: we must clean up the trash and change towels every day... The toilet and shower have never been washed, apparently, it is necessary to bring cleaning supplies with you... That seems to be it... As I said above, it's up to you...
a wonderful hotel for its 4*. There are small errors in the plan: there is a hook for a towel, there is a shower holder. Yes, and I still wanted to see the towels white, if they were originally white. It would be nice to add slippers to the bathrobes. But these are the little things that you notice, but they don't annoy. The rooms are comfortable and conveniently equipped. The location is amazing: near the waterfall, the New Athos Monastery and the mountains around. It is convenient to walk 300 meters to the sea along the tour zone. The staff is very friendly and at the reception there are Selma and 2 guys, and girls in the restaurant and maids. The breakfasts are delicious homemade, only moderately. In general, the hotel pleased me. You will rest comfortably in it.
A great hotel for Abkhazia! I live in Sochi, I visit Abkhazia very often and there is something to compare it with. We lived in a deluxe and a duplex. I liked the deluxe more, although it is much cheaper. A fresh, clean room, heated bathroom floors!!, which is very important, the foot sinks into the floor covering-it is very pleasant to walk! The girl at the reception is just a miracle! I made a discount on accommodation, I responded to all requests instantly! We took three meals a day. Everything is delicious, fresh, varied, not greasy, not fried, meat of all kinds, watermelons and melons are divine! The only thing missing was fish or seafood. There is no queue, the tables were always available. The location of the hotel is amazing. Near the waterfall, the path to the grotto of Simon Kananita. At dawn, while all the tourists were sleeping, we went for a walk along the trail. The hotel is top! I recommend it!

A good four in New Athos. Very convenient location in relation to all local attractions. Spacious room, polite staff. Of the minuses: the carpet would be replaced on the floor, it looks shabby and insects from the balcony at least would be cleaned with a broom.
The warm floor in the bathroom conquered my child, and I had comfortable pillows and mattresses.
I couldn't have breakfast, so I won't write anything about food. We stopped just to spend the night.

There's a construction site under the windows that started hammering at 8 a.m., I'm not talking about dinner at all, it's not delicious, and there's no choice, we didn't even go to breakfast, so as not to spoil the mood in the morning. But the horror is that when I read the reviews about bedbugs, I didn't believe it, but in the morning they were just awesome, I'll attach the photo below. No one even came up at the check-out, and they didn't help with the luggage. The price for this hotel is too high
A very good hotel, the price of course bites, but the service there is not bad. It seems like they were entering from Abkhazia to Turkey. The rooms are clean, fresh, everything is done neatly, the accessories (sockets, sockets, faucets, tiles, etc.) are on the level. There are minor flaws: the cards on the light relay do not work, but maybe it's for the best, the toilet button jams, doors and windows do not switch to winter mode in winter, which is why the seal blows (there is enough heat overboard, but condensation forms on the jambs on the sashes), few channels (in Abkhazia in general TV is not developed). The food is excellent, delicious, and if you buy it, it is also quite acceptable for the money. We bought only breakfast, buffet, everything is fresh and delicious. The staff is friendly, does not ignore and will resolve issues. We were in Gudauta in lzaa in September, everything was difficult there, both at Fatima and in Swallow. I don't want to recommend them, and there are lots of cow dung everywhere on the roads, with the promise of special relict pines that exist throughout Abkhazia and this place is not unique, with difficult transport accessibility, we didn't like it and we won't go there anymore. New Athos is another matter, clean, clean air, lots of places for walking and exploring, there is a highway where, if desired, you can catch a minibus without problems. As a result: a great hotel in a great location.

There were conflicting impressions about the hotel. The location is great. Everything looks beautiful, but if you look closely, there are a lot of disadvantages. The price does not match the quality absolutely.
At the time of check-in, we were told that there would be a double bed, although the reservation was for two single beds. I had to look for information and prove it - we booked on the official website of the hotel. As a result, they gave me another room and said that they would come and spread the beds after checking in. After our three reminders, the beds were pushed apart only the next day in the evening. We checked in, however, an hour earlier at no extra charge. The rooms are beautiful, but dirty. There was no cleaning once in a week, shampoo and gel, tea bags were brought once, the faucet and mirror were wiped. However, the garbage was taken out every day and toilet paper was changed. One day we met a maid, listened to a tirade about how hard it was for her and that she didn't have time to do anything - rooms for new guests were a priority. Towels and bed linen are not the first freshness, they have never been replaced, a bathrobe with a stain. There was only one foot towel, always wet on the floor. There is a duvet cover instead of a sheet.
The side facing the temple and the waterfall is not illuminated by the sun, things did not have time to dry. The breakfasts are not bad.
The hotel has good potential, but lacks an experienced manager and seasonal staff in general.
A wonderful hotel. I didn't like the food very much, but the sea and the living conditions are excellent! The staff is nice and calm. Come and have a rest!
