It's just a very beautiful place with a bunch of healing keys.
Since 1893, when the colonnade was completed to the Rocky Spring, its length has reached 132 m. Under its roof, which is supported by 124 Corinthian columns, there is an orchestra sink and five mineral springs. The walls of the colonnade are decorated with allegorical bas–reliefs, and the balustrade of the upper terrace is decorated with sculptural images of twelve months.
Mlynska Colonnade is probably the most popular building in Karlovy Vary among locals and tourists today.
The marble Mill Colonnade (where one of the most popular springs is located - #6 pramen Mlynsky), consisting of 124 columns, follows the triad of ancient Roman principles of architecture formulated by Vitruvius 20 centuries ago: it is durable, useful and beautiful. A sand sculpture of the king was installed in this most visited place of the resort for the 700th anniversary of the birth of Charles IV (1316) and for the 50th International Film Festival (2016). And during the three weeks of my stay in Karlovy Vary in February 2017, the figure underwent irreversible metamorphoses: bravely surviving the frosts, with the onset of the thaw and the arrival of rains, Karl began to crumble, losing his former monumental grandeur and ending up without a face, and then without a head at all. Sic transit gloria mundi (this is how worldly glory passes)
The largest and longest stone colonnade of the five existing in Karlovy Vary. It got its name from the mill that once stood on this place. I.e. the mill colonnade. At the same place there was a house in the construction of which Tsar Peter the Great took part. You can see this for yourself by reading the sign on the "Peter's House" located opposite on the opposite side of the Tepla River. There are three springs in the colonnade. In hot weather, the colonnade is pleasantly cool. And during the rain, you can take shelter in it and continue to drink water without violating medical procedures. In the middle there is a staircase to the roof of the colonnade. The roof offers a beautiful view of the resort town. There is a paid public toilet in the right wing. In the summer, the local symphony orchestra plays various music for all vacationers and guests of the city.
