You can get to the border, to the Oybek checkpoint, from Tashkent by taxi from Kuylyuk. Taxi drivers are waiting there under the bridge. You can ask passers-by, they will tell you. The cost for loading 4 people is 60-80 thousand sums. Taxi drivers usually wait for a full load. Or they raise the price with fewer people. I drove for 100 thousand sums together.
The travel time from Tashkent to the checkpoint is no more than 2 hours.
If you cross the border on foot, it will take about 20 minutes. Checkpoints are located on both sides of the road, you should always choose the right side (both when traveling to Tajikistan and when traveling to Uzbekistan) There are no ATMs there, there are only human money changers. The course is acceptable in prinitsp. You will need to exchange currency and have Tajik somoni in order to use a taxi on Tajik territory. There are money changers on both sides of the checkpoint.
I was traveling to Dushanbe, the cost is 200-250 somoni from the border, again when the car is fully loaded. It takes about 5-6 hours to get to Dushanbe, including a stop for a snack. It also depends on the route chosen by the taxi driver - through Khujand or by cutting off without stopping by.
From Dushanbe to the Uzbek border, taxis are waiting at the Chorbog terminal
We arrived from Tajikistan, on 08/19/2024, by 11:00 we had not yet reached the border of Uzbekistan.. It's 08/20/2024 time 2:31 Just terrible , we've been standing with the children for more than 15 hours((!!! We 'll probably stand for another 15 hours , it seems they don 't want to work at night ... they don 't care if you 're with children , or a pregnant woman , or elderly people !!!!
I have been to many countries, this is the most terrible border of all. We went from Uzbekistan to Tajikistan, passed without queues, quickly.
After 2 days we went back. We've been standing in line for 15 hours and we still haven't been released. The queues are huge, they work very long and reluctantly. The dog rested with them for several hours, no one was allowed to pass at this time. No signs, inf.scoreboard, where to go next, where to go. We were traveling as a family, with a child, no compassion. They inspect the car very carefully, right every millimeter. They dig into every little thing. I don't know what they wanted to find from family tourists. We searched for a very long time, and then we were upset that we didn't find anything. A dog with dirty paws was climbing on the seats, on the child's things.
They tried to open everything with screwdrivers. There were scratches from a screwdriver on the inside of the car.
There is no toilet on the territory, the child needs to be taken to the toilet outside the gate, outside the territory. Respect for people and communication with Russians is terrible.
The husband accidentally left his passport in the passport control window. Not a single employee informed him about this, although everyone saw that we had been looking for a passport for a long time in the car and at the car inspection point.
They force all passengers with children to walk from point to point at night, in the cold. They are not allowed to travel by car, only the driver can drive.
We went as tourists. The attitude is just disgusting. Not a foot here anymore. I will complain wherever possible.
