The sculpture "Stargazer" in Mogilev is a unique work of art created by the Belarusian sculptor Vladimir Zhbanov. The monument is a figure of an astrologer sitting on a high massive chair and pointing his finger at the sky. Nearby there is a telescope that serves as a sundial hand at the same time. In the evening, a powerful searchlight turns on in the telescope, directing the light beam upwards.
The sculpture has become popular among tourists and locals who believe in the omens associated with it. One of them says that to fulfill a wish, you need to sit on a chair with your zodiac sign and ask for something important and intimate. There is also an opinion that touching a finger to a sculpture or its forehead helps to accumulate cosmic energy, which gives confidence and courage in new beginnings.
"Stargazer" is a vivid example of how art can unite people and give them hope for the fulfillment of desires.
Great location in the city center. You can take good photos for memory. It is located on a pedestrian street of the city. There is a park nearby where you can relax. There are also many coffee shops nearby where you can have a good time with friends and family.
It's a great place. An informal symbol of Mogilev. Great location for a photo. However, there are always a lot of people. It is part of the "pedestrian zone", so there is a lot of catering nearby, there is a square.
