A large ancient park in the center of Paris, between the Place de la Concorde and the Louvre. Once upon a time, tiles were produced at this place, in French, tuileries. That's why it's called that. The park was organized next to the palace for Catherine de' Medici walks. Now it is a favorite walking place for Parisians and tourists. There is a large octagonal pond in the center of the park.
A historical place. It used to be a park between the Louvre and another residence of the French monarchs, the Tuileries Palace, until it was burned down in 1871 under the Paris Commune.
