At the end of the XVIII century. there was a financial center here, in the basement of which a prison was equipped. The national hero of Brazil, Tiradentis, was imprisoned in it, after whom the palace was later named. The sculpture of the revolutionary can be seen opposite the entrance to the building. Since 1975, deputies of the Legislative Assembly of the State of Rio de Janeiro have been sitting here. It is interesting to visit here with a guided tour. It's simple - you register in the lobby, get a guide and you go on a guided tour (in Portuguese) of the palace, including a gorgeous library and a meeting room.
