This is NOT an airport!!! The airbase is located directly in the city of Nya Trang (Mistakenly called Nichang or Nyachang), was actively used during the Vietnam War by the American Air Force, as a conveniently located base in the deep rear, with a friendly South Vietnamese population.
It is located very close to the main street, the airfield itself does not work, there is an active military unit on its territory, the passage is closed. If you are not lazy and find a checkpoint, then to the left of it behind the fence there is an exhibition of aircraft, an American helicopter, several MIG-17 (or 19, I do not know for sure) aircraft.
You can only inspect it from behind the fence.
A legendary place, I recommend visiting, even standing next to the checkpoint means to feel the history.
Very disorganized actions of the staff. Check-in counters are changed upon departure. (First some, then others. And all 400 people rushed to other counters at the same time, but instead of quick service at the counters, let's fight so that everyone goes over the line, but it can't be done when there's a crowd of people with suitcases behind them. As a result, they checked in for a flight in a terrible crush and queued for more than an hour.)
The most lame airport I've ever been to. Although it's new. It's about the organization, or rather its absence. Where has it been seen that after a flight, people languished in a queue for passport control for 3 hours!!!!! At the same time, there were no clearly marked queues, it was not clear which booths work with border guards. A huge crowd of passengers from several flights crowded into one pile!!! It was terrible!!!!
I was in Nha Trang for the first time, at first I regretted it, I thought I had thrown away the money. Traffic on the road is hard to get used to, the streets are very dirty, in the evenings you can see a couple of other rats. Then they got used to it, but they have rats as sacred animals. Theft is rampant, I can rip the bag off my back, although I have never seen anyone do this all the time.
The airport is small, clean, there are signs everywhere, signs, a lot of boards in Russian, so you won't get lost there. The airport staff are friendly and courteous. The only hole was the baggage claim. We waited for more than an hour.
The former air base. It is no longer valid. The value of comments about the quality of service is negative. The commentators are banging in the eyes. The airport is not here. Cam Ranh Airport is further south.
Everything is terribly slow! Huge queues at customs upon arrival. The luggage was not given out for an hour and a half! And this is early in the morning, when there were two or three flights. The departure is also a mess and queues! The disgusting work of the entire staff!
