The "Topography of Terror" is a place that really makes an impression. Now it is a modern exhibition center and an open—air museum, but it stands on very hard ground - it was here that the Gestapo headquarters, their prison and later the Reich security service used to be located. The building is new, it was opened in 2010, and it is designed to remind of the past, but without too much pathos. There is a lot of information inside, documents, photographs — everything tells in great detail and honestly about how the machine of terror worked.
