Visiting the Summer Palace in Beijing was an incredible experience. The complex is huge and full of magical corners: gardens, pavilions, temples, and, of course, the huge Kunming Lake, which gives it a unique serenity. Walking along its paths surrounded by nature and traditional Chinese architecture is like traveling back in time.

The Summer Palace in Beijing is an analogue of our Peterhof and Tsarskoye Selo. It should only be noted that if in the Catherine Palace we primarily come to admire the interiors, then in the Summer Palace, as in Peterhof, we should focus on the park. But there are no amazing fountains of Peterhof with its glitter of gold and water jets in the sun. The setting sun is appreciated here, giving amazing views of the lake, around which the palace and park complex is located. Hundreds of photographers line up along the shore every evening to capture this magical landscape with their lens. It was in order to admire the views of the lake and take long walks in any weather that Empress Qi, Catherine the Great of China, ordered the construction of the world's longest canopied walkway for imperial walks. She believed that such fitness, along with admiring nature, helps a person find harmony and prolongs life.
