Very rude staff. If tourists not welcomed just close it for us. It's not a reason to be rude.

The Suleymaniye Mosque is an active spiritual center and one of the most visited sites of the Alanya fortress. History: The building was built in the 16th century by order of the tenth Sultan of the Ottoman Empire, Suleiman I the Magnificent (ruled in 1520-1566). The mosque is named after the Sultan, whose name is written above the entrance. The old temple was built in 1231 by order of the Seljuk Sultan Ala al-Din Kay-Kubad, and 4 centuries later it was seriously damaged in a fire due to a lightning strike. Architecture: The low-rise building has a square shape typical of 16th-century Turkish mosques. The walls are made of red brick and stone. The building is crowned by a dark green hemispherical brick dome. The entrance is preceded by a portico with three domes and three arched passages. Interior: the prayer hall is conventionally divided into three parts by high intersecting arches. The floor is covered with a carpet with a repeating rectangular pattern. In the evening, the hall is illuminated by a large round chandelier, during the daytime the light comes from numerous windows. Under the dome you can see 15 small balls designed to improve acoustics.
