It takes 10-12 minutes by boat to reach Railay Beach from Ao Nang Beach. 100 baht per person one way. There will be 400 batts for two round trips. The water on Railay is cleaner than on Ao Nang Beach, but not crystal clear. Depending on the tide, it may become cloudy. The nature around is gorgeous. There is a view of a cluster of different islands. The sand is white and fine, and in salt water it will be very difficult to shake it off and wash it off before showering. There are no facilities on the beach. A long strip of sand, a third of which is occupied by a pier with boats. No sun beds, no umbrellas, no awnings, not even... an urn (so please take the trouble to take the trash back out. The cleanliness of this place is important). The road to the other side of the peninsula begins right in front of the boats. Lots of food, massages, and all sorts of things. Boats are picked up from the island quickly. 5-10 minutes. Convenience is important to me, so I choose other beaches. It is very uncomfortable to lie on a towel under the scorching sun, risking being fried to the bone, or climbing under strange plants with the same towel (we are, by the way, in Southeast Asia).
