The very first pyramid in the world, a magnificent structure of early architectural thought. We entered from the southern entrance, the guide said that the entrance was cut by the Greek dynasties of the pharaohs, for whom this pyramid was already an ancient antiquity. The scale of the burial shaft inside the pyramid is amazing. Definitely worth a visit!

Djoser's Pyramid is the oldest pyramid. It is located in the Saqqara necropolis. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately), the complex is not as popular among tourists as the pyramids of Giza. Meanwhile, there are very interesting structures here. And one of them is the pyramid of Djoser and the adjacent structures, which are in decent condition for their age. The Pyramid of Djoser is not as tall and impressive as, for example, Cheops, but it is worth seeing.

The oldest pyramid and the oldest stone structure on earth. We watched it before the pyramids of Giza and it was the right decision. It is possible to trace how architectural thought developed among the ancient Egyptians. Be sure to take a guide, he will plan your time competently and tell you interesting things. Nothing has been preserved inside the pyramid, but nearby there is the pyramid of Unas, in which the burial chamber with the book of the dead carved on the walls is perfectly preserved. Also nearby, look for the Kagemni mastaba, which has preserved painted reliefs. It is amazing to stand and see the structure and the entire complex (the Djoser complex includes an entire territory and an ensemble of buildings), which was built an unimaginably long time ago. By the way, the architect and foreman was Imhotep (from the movie The Mummy).
