Beautiful mosque in Aksaray. The Pertevnial Valide Sultan Mosque is one of the last mosques of the Ottoman period. It was built in 1869-71 on behalf of Pertevnial Sultan, the wife of Sultan Mahmud II. The architecture of the building combines various European styles from Gothic to Rococo, including the traditional Ottoman style. It is located on Aksaray Square. After the construction of transport interchanges, it was somewhat lost in the urban agglomeration.
