The Patriarchal Church of St. George in Istanbul is a real spiritual treasure. Already at the entrance you feel a touch to the origins of Orthodoxy in Byzantium. Inside, there is a special atmosphere of calm and tranquility, which contrasts wonderfully with the bustling and bustling city outside the walls of the church. I would strongly recommend that anyone who is interested in history or looking for inner peace visit this place.

It is a very beautiful Temple, although it looks very modest from the outside. Inside there is a very beautiful iconostasis and many shrines - the relics of the Ecumenical Teachers Basil the Great, John Chrysostom and Gregory the Theologian, the Holy Great Martyrs - Queens Theophania, Solomonia and Euphemia. There are also two highly revered icons of the Virgin, one in a silver-gilt chasuble and one in the form of a mosaic) The largest Shrine is the Flagellation Pillar, to which Jesus Christ was chained before he was crucified. I am very glad that I found this Temple. I recommend you to visit!!
