A spacious and beautiful museum inside and out. In contrast to the old castle, the new castle looks more modern from the inside. There are many different expositions with interesting exhibits. You can walk for 2-3 hours) I was particularly impressed by the exhibition with stuffed animals such as moose and tiger. Overall, the place is cool, the outside is also beautiful, with a beautiful view of the city and the Neman River from the mountain. Souvenirs can be purchased inside.

The new sports-themed exhibition was very interesting and informative, showing both paintings from the new era and the very first bicycles at the peak of their origin and distribution to the masses. In general, all the exhibits are good, I have been to the New Castle several times and still find informative information about our history. Plus, the giant oaks in the middle of the castle and the peace tree fit very well into the overall atmosphere, and they also recently made a beautiful location overlooking the right and left banks of the Neman.

The new castle is built opposite the Old One. On the banks of the Neman River (photo attached). I think that there is nothing left of the original castle, and there is little that has survived from those times. The palace was built in 1737-1752 during the reign of the Polish King and Grand Duke of Lithuania August III, as a summer residence of the Polish kings and Grand Dukes of Lithuania. In July 1944, the building burned down as a result of military operations. It was rebuilt in 1952 in the style of Soviet neoclassicism. In 1991, the New castle was transferred to accommodate cultural organizations: the regional library and the museum. Currently, part of the exposition of the Grodno Historical and Archaeological Museum is located there. The expositions feature materials telling about the history and culture of Grodno region, including artifacts of the past centuries. In addition to permanent exhibitions, the museum regularly hosts temporary exhibitions on various aspects of history and culture. And also, as we were told, various events and weddings are held there. Apparently, the atmosphere of the halls attracts people) We were there on April 26, 2026. The territory was reconstructed. Everything was working in the building itself.
