Absolutely wonderful! You are going to meet some unexpected historical turns, people's stories and the insights of how they lived there. Besides, the exhibition is well-ordered and maintained. And there are some unique artifacts of the time Definitely worth visiting

The museum consists of an exhibition of 15 halls. The tour begins with the natural component of the region: minerals, fossils, samples of fauna and flora. Further, the exposition is arranged chronologically and covers the history of the development of the district from the early Middle Ages to 1921. The exposition is compact, logically organized and easy to read. However, a significant part of the material is provided only as an overview — much has been missed, so the museum serves more as a general introduction than a deep dive into the history of the region. The main questions arise after visiting the historical part. After 1921, the narrative actually ends. Realizing that the responsibility for this most likely lies not with the director of the museum, but at the level of the ruling elite, there is still a misunderstanding: why did a whole historical layer completely fall out? What role did the Adjara Autonomous Republic play during the Soviet period? What was its industrial, economic and cultural potential? Where is the information about key figures, achievements, figures, facts, documents? Instead of revealing this crucial period, history is suddenly replaced by a room with porcelain products and paintings, which looks conceptually torn and illogical. The museum leaves the impression of a good foundation, but at the same time a missed opportunity. The history of the region after 1921 deserves no less attention than earlier eras, and its absence is particularly acute. The cost is 6 GEL

It's not a bad place by the standards of Batumi (we're from St. Petersburg and, of course, we've seen bigger and more interesting museums). Spending half an hour in the rain for GEL 6 is quite normal. A small museum with 12-13 halls. It was interesting only in the first and in the courtyard. And that courtyard is littered with some kind of junk. And all the exhibits are tired. They were executed unprofessionally. As if they were first-year students at some art college. To wait out the bad weather - no more. I wouldn't go on purpose to enlighten myself. (but again, I judge from the experience of viewing numerous museums/exhibitions in St. Petersburg)

The museum is interesting for its culture. Small, but informative. Friendly girl at the reception. It's a pity that there is no audio guide in Russian, I would like to get into the story not only by looking at the exhibits.

The children and I really liked it. The museum, which has been around for more than a hundred years, consists of several departments that introduce residents and visitors to the history of the region's development: from the time when the ancient sea was located here to the present and objects created by man very recently. Information support for most of the exhibits is available in 3 languages: Georgian, Russian and English.

We visited this museum on the open day, when admission was free for everyone. I really liked it, the museum is quite large, there are interesting explanations in English and Georgian, it is really interesting, I advise you to visit) You can figure it out even without a guide, even without knowing Georgian, this is a plus

The museum is very interesting. We recommend you to visit. The Batumi Museum of Local Lore will be interesting to visit for both adults and children, who will be able to learn a lot about the Adjara region, its history, natural, cultural and other features here.

The family went to this museum. I liked everything. The museum is not large, there are about 13 small exhibition halls and a courtyard. It was all over in about an hour. 11 GEL was paid for a family of 3 people. We wanted to take a guide in Russian, but he was not there. All the inscriptions are in Georgian and English, and there are QR codes everywhere. We used an online translator and understood all the inscriptions perfectly.

A small, cozy museum. There is everything here, as it should be in a local history museum. Be sure to go to the courtyard, there is the most interesting thing!

It will be interesting for both adults and children. An hour is enough time, but two hours is better for a detailed study. The museum's collection is impressive. Thanks!

Since the road to Goderdzi was closed, and it was +19 in Batumi these days, we walked and went into this small museum, where there are no more than 40 paintings and sculptures combined. Nice women at the entrance and at the checkout. You can go and admire, because art is art everywhere!

We visited the Museum of Adjara today. A very good museum. Rita Ioseliani, a very professional tour guide, tells interesting stories and answers all questions. The interesting story of the long-suffering Adjara is told in sufficient detail, all the exhibits are worthy of attention. Very informative. I recommend it to everyone to visit!

The photo reviews below are confused with an art museum nearby. The Archaeological Museum of Adjara is an inconspicuous building with a large two-storey exposition and a pleasant courtyard with a whale skeleton, an old 19th century tractor and graffiti) The museum itself is interesting, the exhibition is large and covers different times. There are a lot of interesting things and you can even take a guided tour for a full immersion) I liked it, I recommend it!

Overall, I liked the museum, BUT! If you do not know English, it is better to take a guide, as all information in the museum is in English/Georgian.

It is interesting to visit a variety of museums, especially those with their own national culture. So, we got to the Adjara Museum of Art quite by accident, walking around Batumi. The museum was founded in 1995 and began to replenish its collection. Today, the museum presents many wonderful artists of different generations - and, of course, Niko Pirosmani.

An interesting museum. Everyone confuses it with the neighboring Art Museum, but this one is much more interesting. There is a whale skeleton in the yard. The examination will take about an hour.

I learned about the museum from a guidebook, I wanted to see the gold collection, but it turns out there is no such thing, without a guide, the inspection took 15-20 minutes. If a pampered vacationer doesn't know how to entertain himself, then you can go take a look!

An interesting museum about Adjara - about the history, ethnography, fossils, animals and plants of the region. The ticket is 6 GEL, for a child of 3 years old for free. The tour in Russian lasts about an hour, for one person 15 lari.
