It's a very beautiful mosque! It has been preserved since the time of Constantinople. It was built in the 12th century as an Orthodox monastery, after which, like many buildings, it became a mosque. It is a pity that it is not being restored to excellent condition. I think the mosque will die without restoration. The building of the former monastery, and today the mosque, traces its history back to the 12th century, when two churches were built here, which were later combined into one large building. One of the sources mentions that in fact there were even three, not two temples here. Anyway, the combined building is the second largest Byzantine church building in the city after St. Sophia Cathedral. In addition to the churches, the Pantokrator Monastery complex included an ordinary and psychiatric hospital, a hospice building, a chapel, a library and several other buildings. After the conquest of Constantinople, the main monastery building became a mosque, while other buildings were occupied by an Islamic theological school. The renovated religious building was named (Molla Zeyrek, or Molla Zeyrek in Russian) in honor of one of the teachers of this educational institution. During the restoration, in the 1950s, a historical floor covering was found in the mosque. This is probably what we see under the glass in the western part of the main hall. Large-scale restoration work has been carried out here and in our days. During this time, experts discovered many antique objects from different periods. Since 1985, the mosque, along with some areas of Istanbul, has been included in the UNESCO Cultural Heritage List.

The temple I've been to many times, where I find peace every time I go. It used to be a church. A raised glass base has been made to protect the mosaics on its base. He was removed at a certain point. You can see some of the mozics. There are serifs of the tomb of Mehmed Emin Tokadi hazrat in the immediate vicinity. The view of the tea garden at the bottom is great. While you're there, also visit the piri mehmet mosque just below
