A stop in Kibertai from a train window is a concise "window to Europe". There is no rush of the metropolis here: the buildings of the station and the marina buildings are designed in a restrained style typical of the border territories. The station certainly helps out those who walk across the border, but... There are only 4 trains to Vilnius with a transfer in Kaunas, about 7-10-13-16 hours. The schedule may change, but you won't leave in the evening. There is nothing at the station itself, just a building and rows of seats inside. No cash register, no water to drink. But the most terrible thing is the bridge that must be crossed over the tracks with suitcases, and back and forth. There is no elevator.
