It is a very beautiful place and a must-visit for those who are planning a trip to Armenia. We rented a car and the first location was this monastery. It is located not far from Yerevan, driving on a good road without a serpentine.Admission is free.We climb up and arrive at a wonderful place, from which there is a view of Ararat and the monastery.Birds are singing, everything is clean and well maintained. The territory is compact, but be sure not to forget to go down to the dungeon where Gregory the Illuminator spent 13 years underground. Also, from the mountain, which is nearby, there is a cool view of Ararat, the monastery and the border with Turkey as close as possible (you can see the fence that separates the two countries). And even in May, on the way to this place, they sell cowberries and there are many stork nests near the house.

Chorus of Viraps! The mountain, in the middle of the temple, is even higher than the Armenian flag. On the way, I bought ice cream and sat on the territory of Khor Virap on the observation deck, I ate Orthodox Ice Cream on a wooden bench! There are a lot of tourists! You can hear the speech and the mate and gratitude and discontent! Everyone has their own impression! There is only one religion, but they enter and leave the temple differently, respecting their traditions! Of all the temples that I visited in Armenia, the chirping birds of the song breeds only flew here through the vertical windows of the slits under the ceiling and flew out after making several figures! It's a very interesting atmosphere, but touching the walls creates a sense of novelty, perhaps the building has already been rebuilt many times. Respect your neighbors! Honor the traditions! Travel more often!
