The castle, founded in the 14th century by tycoon Bo Jonsson Griep, became the property of the royal family in the 16th century. It now houses the most interesting museum, the National Portrait Gallery. (For the editor: the error in the description is not Södermanland, Strangnes, but Södermanland, Marienfred. Strangnes is also an interesting place, but it's quite far from here.)
