The Minsk Gate is not just two buildings flanking the train station, it is a real portal to the soul of the city! When you just get off the train and see this majestic tower with a spire and the coat of arms of the BSSR, you immediately understand: You're in the capital. I was struck by the symmetry and power of the Stalinist Empire style. In the evening, when the lights turn on, the tower resembles a huge ruby, and the coat of arms on it looks incredibly solemn. You can immediately feel the scale, history and pride of the city. Be sure to take a closer look at the sculptures — the worker and the soldier have such lively, strong faces. Minsk starts right here, and it's a great start!
