A wonderful historical and memorable place. The degree of preservation of the fortress is depressing. But considering the age and lack of care, the masonry walls have been preserved very well. Very good impressions about the quality of the masonry when examining the interior. Arched rooms, a spacious "front" staircase to the second floor and a spiral staircase to the roof, an abundance of loopholes with an all-round view. In the masonry of the walls, I happened to find bricks dated 1840 and 1844 in very good condition.
The best fortress we have seen in Belarus. The rest are renovated, combed, crammed with trade, museum exhibits and other means of organizing jobs and earning money. This one is separate. When we went to see her, we thought she must be somewhere in the city center. But 500 meters from the fortress, there were still private, unsightly houses among the suburban industrial zone. As a result, the fortress turned out to be a huge abandoned building! Not only can it be explored all by itself, but there are also a lot of abandoned younger buildings nearby. As a result, a huge abandoned territory is completely deserted. Young people probably go on dates there, smoke schmalz at night, and all that sort of stuff. The atmosphere is amazing. I recommend you to visit. In general, it would be great if some historical sites were left as they are. So maybe they would have lived less, but the feelings from them are an order of magnitude greater.
Friends, this is a truly historic place, iconic and mysterious.
The history of its creation can be found online. The fortress was built in 1810, and it played an important role in the war against Napoleon. It is still rumored that it was here in Berezina near the fortress that Napoleon's treasures sank, which he took out of Moscow. It is possible, but not a fact, since according to other sources Napoleon fled through Borisov. But there are definitely treasures there, a treasure has already been found once, and according to the documents it is still hidden.
In pre-war times, the fortress served as a political prison, there was a built-in punishment cell - an egg-shaped room where the prisoner could neither get up nor lie down normally, but was in a state of the letter "zy", which drove him crazy and broke him for life. During the Second World War, the fortress turned into a concentration camp, where 40 thousand of our Soviet prisoners of war were killed.
The story is amazing.
As well as the current abandoned state of the fortress is striking. Trees are visible inside the building. It turns out how much time it costs in such a poor way.
Nowadays, the fortress attracts not only tourists, but also filmmakers.
Various films were shot here, including one of my favorite Farsi language. The film is about willpower, about the thirst for life and the ingenuity that a prisoner had to apply in a concentration camp in order to survive. And so, for the filming of this film in 2020, decorations were built on the territory of the fortress: one-story brick buildings, gates, observation towers. Since then, all these fake buildings complement the legendary fortress. You will also see them in the photo.
They say that there are large passages and corridors under the fortress. Perhaps they connect nearby fortress buildings.
In general, there is something to see, something to read, something to admire and something to grieve about. If you are in these parts, be sure to stop by there.
All our childhood we "studied" the Bobruisk fortress!!! A sparkling phrase: "And let's go to the ramparts!?" It was always full of mysteries and something interesting! And in winter, we sledged down the slides in the fortress, and played war games, in short, there was everything!!!! And thank God that there are warm memories and the place itself, where you can walk through familiar places. Bobruisk is blooming, people love their city, they try to take their history as carefully as possible!!! A great example to everyone!!! Welcome to Belarus!!! I am happy to come to my hometown!!!!
Truly impressive.
The royal brick, the level below the ground, the thick walls, in general, everything has been preserved and can be restored in the future. Take a walk, climb, super!!!
Cool! This fortress is old, some towers and walls are relatively clearly visible, and the territory is large. Some towers are boarded up, there are those where you can enter.
It is a pity that the fortress is being destroyed and is not being restored, as the history of the fortress is impressive and would attract many tourists. Moreover, there are good access roads and it is located near Minsk. And now you can walk along the paths and see up close
Cool! This fortress is old, some towers and walls are relatively clearly visible, the territory is large. It is a pity that, although it is protected by the state, it has a very deplorable appearance, at least it was cleaned inside.
Nearby there is a monastery, the Nevsky Temple, a monument to soldiers. Some of the towers are boarded up, there are those where you can go.
It is very extensive - Okkerman built an entire military city (it is a pity that on the site of the ancient part of Bobruisk). You can walk here, or you can get around by car - there are parking lots everywhere. 80 percent of the fortress consists of the ruined remains of bastions, military warehouses, barracks...
It is a pity that there is no single museum, it is a pity that in Soviet times the interior was used rudely and clumsily, destroying ancient traces of time.
But it's still interesting, curious and impressive.
A fairly large-scale structure. The degree of preservation allows you to assess how it looked before. Plus, the skill of the builders of that time is impressive: all these vaults, arches, carved bricks. Nearby there are barracks - also a fairly solid structure. Of the minuses, I will only note that everything is abandoned, there are no information signs, there are no tracks, there is quite a lot of garbage.
Beautiful landscapes and iconic historical sites associated with the most important moments in history.
It would be good if all this was put in order to the end and museum exhibits were made of abandoned buildings that you can be proud of and view these architectural monuments with pleasure and comfortably moving around the territory, as well as inside buildings without any fear.
A must-visit!
The place is quite interesting, but at the moment (summer 2024) it is abandoned. The barracks buildings are in disrepair, although it is noticeable that people are still climbing inside.
Forts. 2 out of 3 are still available for, so to speak, visits, but purely at your own risk. Because all the forts are also slowly being destroyed. One, the farthest and most open, apparently became a gathering place for drinkers. It is very cluttered, heaps of bottles, glass, some rags. In other forts, this is much less. Probably because you still have to work hard to get inside.
But the buildings themselves are very interesting. I want to believe that there will be money for their conservation and restoration to a state accessible to the mass visitor.
Unfortunately, vandals have vandalized both outside and inside the buildings.
One of the Forts is completely closed - the gates are welded shut, the bars on the windows. Plus, structural elements and bricks are crumbling from the outside.
An interesting fortress with a rich history, reconstruction works are underway, while the view is a bit abandoned, but it's worth a walk, many buildings of the 19th century have been preserved
It's a very atmospheric place! If you are familiar with the history of the fortress, then the ruins allow you to let your imagination run wild. I would really like to see the restoration carried out. But I objectively understand the scale and cost of the work.
It's a cool place, a must-visit, the only caveat, unfortunately, is that no one cares about the historical value, both to the State and the local population (garbage, ruin, etc.)
an interesting place went inside, it's very beautiful, it's bad that it collapses, it's necessary to at least close the top with something and seal the holes in the walls, so local vodka and recreation lovers leave behind dirt and remnants of their vital activity, and someone else sleeps there on blankets
an interesting building from the early 19th century. it has been preserved quite well, but it is dangerous to walk around the building, since it is not fenced, and the bricks are falling down and they are not being cleaned. there is garbage in the form of bottles and all kinds of bags of chips, but the fortress is not to blame for this, there is simply no owner.
It impresses with its scale. Before the trip, it would be better to read about it and see historical photos) because it is difficult to imagine what it was like from scattered fragments on the spot. A large number of parts of the fortress and its components are in disrepair.
A place for an amateur . Because everything is very well started , of course.. but that's the whole point of such places. When it 's all cleaned up and tied up, you can't touch the story , but here you can touch the story with your hands - literally .
I was so glad to get here!! The fortress is non-standard, it was built during the war of 1912, it is open to the public, it has not yet been dismantled brick by brick))
It is a pity that the fortress is abandoned and is not being restored. We walked, looked at the ruins and saw an endless stream of tourists (our own, foreigners). The buildings are in very good condition. The area is clean on the street. Inside, of course, he wants to be better. I really hope that one day such historical sites will be restored and tourists will start visiting the fortress.
In my mind, the fortress was like Kreva, Lida. And in Bobruisk there is a whole complex of fasteners. It's fast and you won't look. In general, it's interesting.
How many years in a row have money been raised for the reconstruction of this fortress? Is there really no program in the beaver culture department?City Executive Committee for the preservation of historical and cultural monuments of the city of Bobruisk . It's a shame to know that no one needs the only place that could be a magnet for tourists from other cities and countries...
It's interesting to see and climb, but, unfortunately, everything is in a deplorable state: dirt, bottles, beds for homeless people, and drug addicts apparently spend their time there. But if you refine everything, you will get a very interesting tourist destination.
There are a lot of fortifications, but, unfortunately, there are ruins where you can't go. We climbed in one of the buildings, went up a couple of floors. But you have to be careful. There is plenty of parking space.
The Bobruisk Fortress has a complicated history since the time of Napoleon. The first concentration camp during the occupation of Belarus by Poland in 1919-1920. During the Great Patriotic War, after the occupation of the city by the invaders, the fortress housed a concentration camp for Soviet prisoners of war, Stalag No. 131. On the night of November 7, 1941, the Germans set fire to the barracks of the fortress and shot about 7 thousand prisoners of war. This episode is reflected in the story of Ales Adamovich "The Punishers". By August 1942, about 40,000 people had been killed here.
Интересно, но самим, без специально обученного человека крепость не понять. Рекомендую взять экскурсовода, который расскажет почему укрепления во рвах.
A place where you can walk for a long time, finding more and more traces of the past. It is a pity that it is not very suitable for mass tourism. It would be possible to put up a stand with a diagram and a brief history, and hang more informative signs. But it's so interesting. The ruins are in varying degrees of destruction, some buildings (which probably also belong to the fortress) are in decent condition, used for various purposes. Does it look like it's for filming a movie? The territory is large. It is interesting for fans of abandoned buildings and, in general, for those interested in history.
It's a pity that such a historical relic is not being restored, a place with an unreal atmosphere. I hope they'll take care of it before it finally falls apart.
It's great to walk through the historical ruins, it's very interesting for children, and it's necessary to know the history. Trips there are always fun and exciting.
A grandiose building. But complete ruin. An entire city has been destroyed and it is not clear why this fortress is not being restored and maintained in good condition. The walls are painted, garbage is scattered.
I don't share the rave reviews. Large-scale, but absolutely neglected. Everything is collapsing before our eyes. It is clear that a complete reconstruction will cost a fabulous sum, but it is quite realistic to restore basic order, mow and cut down the shrubbery.
It's an amazing story, but there's no information other than the Internet. In Belarus, apparently, little is invested in historical sites in order to attract tourists not only to the Brest Fortress. Although we must pay tribute - the memory of those who died for their native land is honored. What do you know about the Bobruisk fortress? - I didn't even hear anything until I visited it, and the story is no less significant than that of Brest...
An abandoned fortress that could become an excellent museum in Bobruisk, but is crumbling without proper maintenance.
Admission is free, but it may not be completely safe to wander inside.
It's interesting to see. The architecture is very impressive. And the ability to create something like that. Every year there is less and less opportunity to watch.
Very picturesque ruins of the fortress. 3 hours in Bobruisk was used just for a walk from the railway station to the fortress. It is suitable for photo shoots or just a city walk
It's a great place! There have been many bricks here since 1806, as new. The main place in the history of Bobruisk is. Before visiting the bastions, I recommend going to the city Museum of Local lore and looking at the diagram. It is worth visiting the museum for just a penny, the expositions have not changed for 30 years, but the diagram of the fortress is beautiful. It's a pity that there are a lot of bottles. I really hope that the authorities will not close the bastions to the public, but will clear them. I strongly recommend you to visit!
I was struck by the almost complete absence of people, you can approach and touch everything, the idea of Auschwitz is very interesting, perhaps it is the scenery for shooting a film. The gate creaked eerily, in general, I have never been in such a place almost alone.
An abandoned road that is interesting to climb. There is an abandoned hospital nearby, on the territory of which there are decorations from the film "Persian Lessons", which was filmed here.very plausible.
A fortress? Are you sure she's there? It's a little bit spread out, but as such they didn't find a fortress there, ruins, yes, a little, a prison, it's worth it, it seems... and nothing else, actually
If there is nowhere to put time, then you can look in, but if it is limited, then you should not waste it on it.
I give 5 stars, because it is a historical place, a landmark of the city. Unfortunately, it is neglected, polluted, destroyed. However, all this does not detract from the greatness of the fortress, its beauty. I recommend definitely visiting, but keep in mind that in some places it can be dangerous due to the deplorable state of the structures. By the way, the smell is less noticeable in the cold season.
There 's nothing to see at all , the brick ruins are outlined and overgrown like everything in their neighborhood , it was an absolutely stupid trip to this place
The place is extremely interesting, but you need to visit it prepared - at least you need to have a plan of this fortress in your hands. Individual internal buildings are scattered over a large area and it is somewhat difficult to understand what is what without a plan. Even so, without a plan, it is not possible to imagine the entire scale of this structure. I see great tourist potential in this place.
It is very atmospheric, but not refined, you can go inside (did not dare). Nearby are the barracks of the 19th century. The location is great, but not for everyone (photo in the barracks)
