The museum is quite expensive, and what's inside it doesn't justify the price. Most pictures are of minor artists that followed some European artistic currents without being noticed. There are very few painting masterpieces, some of the sculptures are somewhat more noteworthy. Probably most of the money are for the building that looks recently renovated. Though I didn't appreciate the entrance to the galleries which resembles going into a cage. Not a great experience.

The museum is very large and tedious. I believe that one ticket should be valid for at least two days (two visits). By the end of the second hour, I was already dizzy from the glut of paintings. Some of the halls (paintings by artists) were very heavy, overloaded with colors and details, and were difficult to perceive, even to the point of feeling unwell. Some of the halls were like a breath of fresh air - they caused a feeling of relief. The leitmotif of so many artists is women. But it is extremely rare that this interest is reflected in the lightness and sophistication of a woman. Most of the time, there is something heavy about the paintings. Definitely worth a visit to this place. This is an opportunity to get to know Georgia through creativity. The museum itself is gorgeous. It's covered in glass, which makes it even more grandiose.

An excellent museum in the center of Tbilisi with a rich collection of Georgian and world art. The exposition is well organized, there are many interesting paintings, sculptures and decorative and applied arts. The atmosphere is calm, it is convenient to walk between the halls, you can spend several hours studying the works of different eras. The staff is friendly and ready to help, but sometimes it can be difficult to explain yourself in English — it all depends on the employee on duty. In general, it is a very worthy place to explore the art of Georgia and the world.
